We are working with a Downend Primary School who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide full-time 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with an EHCP.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a young person's school experience. The pupil is a wonderful child with autism, high levels of anxiety and very low self-esteem. The role is centred around building a strong, trusting relationship and providing consistent emotional and learning support throughout the school day.
There are no behavioural challenges associated with this role. Instead, the school is looking for someone who can offer patience, understanding and encouragement, helping the pupil to feel valued, confident and successful.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be warm, nurturing and naturally empathetic
- Have experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or autism
- Build positive relationships and inspire trust
- Be calm, patient and able to support emotional wellbeing
- Use genuine praise and encouragement to help children thrive
What the role offers:
- The opportunity to make a lasting impact on a child's confidence and development
- A supportive and caring school environment
- Full-time, consistent work until the end of the academic year
- A rewarding role where relationship-building is at the heart of success
If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and believe in the power of positive relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
