You will play a key role in building and scaling a proprietary operating system to run and optimise real-world industrial manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong generalist mindset, excellent engineering fundamentals, and comfort working in a high-autonomy environment. There is a slight preference for candidates with strong UX or frontend experience. You will work closely with leadership and on-site teams to turn operational challenges into production-grade software. This is a fully on-site role based in London, embedded within a factory-first environment.
What You Will Do
- Architect, design, and develop full-stack systems for factory automation, real-time data processing, and user-facing applications.
- Own end-to-end development across infrastructure, backend services, frontend, DevOps, monitoring, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with leadership and shop-floor teams to identify operational bottlenecks and deliver impactful software solutions.
- Deploy and iterate rapidly on production systems used directly within factory environments.
- Lead projects from concept to deployment, ensuring reliability and fault tolerance in high-stakes systems.
- Optimise machine utilisation and support orchestration across a growing network of production facilities.
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience (exceptions may be made for exceptional talent).
- Strong full-stack engineering experience with a generalist approach.
- Proven experience building and shipping production software in fast-paced environments.
- Comfortable working independently with high ownership and responsibility.
- Experience as a founder, founding engineer, or early engineer at a VC-backed startup is highly desirable.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, or other mission-critical industries is a strong advantage.
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), DevOps and production systems.
- Strong UX or frontend experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Compensation, Location & Benefits
- Salary: £100,000 – £200,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Equity: Meaningful, above-average equity, 4-year vesting with a 12-month cliff.
- Visa Sponsorship: Available.
- Fully on-site in London, five days per week. Candidates must be willing and able to work in the office and factory environments full-time.
