Proteus Digital is a human-first social media marketing agency based in Cardiff. We build real, human, performance-led content for ambitious businesses through monthly campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. We work with clients all over the world, from Cardiff to the US and Australia, on social media strategy, content production, Meta ads and website builds. We're a young team, we move quickly and we're growing fast. This isn't a big agency where you disappear into a department. Everyone here has real responsibility and real impact from day one.

The Role
You'll be the engine behind our client accounts. Reporting to our Account Manager, you'll write the captions, build the carousels, schedule the content and make sure every client's month goes out exactly as planned. You'll also write LinkedIn content for our clients and pull together the monthly reports that show them what's working.
You'll start with a 3-month probation period, where you'll learn how Proteus operates, how we think about content and why every post we publish has a job to do. After probation, you'll take on more ownership of your own client accounts, with a clear path towards an Account Manager role as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing captions for client content across Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, in each client's tone of voice
- Creating carousels, graphics and static posts in Canva or Adobe
- Scheduling and manually posting content across Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn for all clients
- Writing LinkedIn posts for clients and their founders, so they sound like them and not like a robot
- Pulling together monthly performance reports, and understanding what the numbers mean
- Researching trends, hooks and formats, and what's performing and why
- Keeping up with platform and algorithm changes across Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Working closely with our Account Manager to keep every client on track
Skills Required
We don't expect you to arrive knowing everything. We expect you to arrive wanting to learn everything.
- Based in Cardiff, with a genuine desire to work from our office at The Maltings
- A real passion for social media. You use it, you think about it and you understand how it works
- Strong writing skills, and the ability to switch your tone for different clients
- Some graphic design experience. Canva is fine, Adobe is a bonus
- A strong eye for detail. Typos and missed posts don't slip past you
- The ability to manage multiple clients and tasks without dropping the ball
- Experience in a social media, marketing or agency environment
- Experience writing for LinkedIn
- An understanding of content strategy and performance metrics

Additional Information
Location: The Maltings, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff CF24 5EA. Office based. This role is not remote.
Reports to: Account Manager
Hours: Full time, 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 depending on experience
Start date: Monday 11th January 2027
