Proteus Digital is a human-first social media marketing agency based in Cardiff. We build real, human, performance-led content for ambitious businesses through monthly campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. We work with clients all over the world, from Cardiff to the US and Australia, on social media strategy, content production, Meta ads and website builds. We're a young team, we move quickly and we're growing fast. This isn't a big agency where you disappear into a department. Everyone here has real responsibility and real impact from day one.

The Role
This is your way into the social media industry, learning on real client accounts from day one while earning a fully funded qualification.
Reporting to our Account Manager, you'll help write captions, build carousels, schedule content and keep every client's month on track. You'll learn how we plan content, why every post we publish has a job to do, and how we measure what's working.
You'll start with a 3-month probation period, where you'll learn how Proteus operates and get comfortable with our tools and processes. As your confidence grows, you'll take on more responsibility, with a clear path into a Social Media Executive role once you've completed your apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
- Helping write captions for client content across Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Creating carousels, graphics and static posts in Canva
- Scheduling and posting content across Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Helping pull together monthly performance reports
- Researching trends, hooks and formats, and what's performing and why
- Keeping up with platform and algorithm changes across Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Working closely with our Account Manager to keep every client on track
- Completing your apprenticeship qualification alongside the role
Skills Required
No experience needed. We care about your attitude, not your CV. We don't expect you to arrive knowing everything. We expect you to arrive wanting to learn everything.
- Based in Cardiff, with a genuine desire to work from our office at The Maltings
- A real passion for social media. You use it, you think about it and you've got opinions on it
- Good writing skills, and an eye for what makes a post stand out
- Curious, keen to learn and not afraid to ask questions
- Organised and reliable. When you say you'll do something, you do it
- Some experience with Canva
- Running your own account, or one for a club, a society or a side project

Additional Information
Location: The Maltings, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff CF24 5EA. Office based. This role is not remote.
Reports to: Account Manager
Hours: Full time, 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday
