This manufacturing based role has the following key functions:
- Establish and maintain Food Safety Quality Management Systems in line with BRCGS food safety requirements.
- To develop and execute validation programs e.g. allergens, CCPs.
- Implement and evolve a product testing and environmental monitoring plan.
- Oversee customer feedback to ensure we have consistently high-quality products, and to report any trends linked to customer complaints.
- Ensure non-conformances are managed in a timely and effective manner focusing on root cause analysis.
- Ensuring that products are being produced safely and all QA checks/documentation are being adhered to.
- Ensuring that all blends are being produced in adherence to gold standards set by the NPD team.
- Drive continuous improvement with a Food safety and Quality first mindset.
- Work with internal teams to embed a food safety and quality culture.
Quality Assurance Process:
- Managing the end to end food safety and quality assurance processes within our Manufacturing Operations.
- Ensuring that food safety and quality management systems meet BRCGS requirements.
- Ensuring all documentation is being managed and completed on time and in full.
- Manage and lead the Quality Assurance team, providing training and guidance on food safety protocols and best practices.
Product Testing and Management:
- Oversee product testing and validation processes to ensure consistency, product safety and adherence to specifications.
- Ensuring that Gold Standards are being met through 100% checks on all blends through organoleptic testing.
- Main point of liaison with our nominated external accredited lab for product testing.
Quality Assurance Management and Reporting:
- Investigate and address customer complaints related to product quality and safety, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitoring performance and trends and highlighting causes for concern.
- Preventative actions and Root Cause Analysis for internal non-conformances.
Compliance and GMP Monitoring:
- Managing and monitoring the compliance and GMP across both Manufacturing and Fulfilment.
- Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed.
- Supporting teams with improvement and management of standards.
Supporting Product/Manufacturing team:
- Supporting the NPD team with product trials.
- Ensuring the first production runs are verified to ensure standards are defined pre handover to production.
The Things You’ll Nail as Standard:
- Food/FMCG Quality Assurance Management with at least 3 years post qualification experience.
- Gravitas to lead change and improve teams quickly.
- Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing and warehousing GMP processes.
- Exemplary knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and other regulatory compliance.
- Great negotiation and persuasion skills to be able to challenge suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

- Extensive experience in all aspects of quality assurance and food safety management.
- Highly organised and excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence at various levels.
- Minimum quality experience in retail and food manufacturing.
- Degree qualified in food science or an associated subject.
- Proven auditing experience with certified lead auditor training.
- Knowledge of supplier assurance and management programmes.
- Food Safety Level 4.
- Compliant management KPI documentation and reporting.
- Experience in Sports Nutrition Fulfilment.
- BRCGS V9 conversion course.
