The role involves positively releasing product from the production line, including organoleptic assessment of finished product and comparing against gold standards. Other responsibilities include carrying out quality control checks, internal audits, environmental monitoring, and product sampling.
The successful candidate needs to have a good understanding of food manufacturing and hygiene regulations.
Responsibilities
- Positively releasing product from the production line, including organoleptic assessment of finished product and comparing against gold standards
- Carry out quality control checks (e.g. CCP, label verification, weights, shift documentation) to ensure compliance
- Carry out internal audits as per schedule (e.g. glass, GMP, traceability, QMS)
- Conduct environmental monitoring and product sampling and ensure results are reported accurately
- Supporting investigations for customer complaints and internal non-conformances
- Raise non-conformances for shift-based issues and where necessary place product on hold
- Complete shift-based reports to ensure information is handed over to teammates accurately
Requirements
- Basic food safety and HACCP certification as a minimum
- Clear and proven experience as a QA / QC
- Highly organised and excellent verbal and written skills
- Computer literate with the ability to work with various Microsoft programs
- Excellent relationship building skills and ability to influence at various levels
- Ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
- Proven ability to be a flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to work occasionally outside normal business hours, when required
Desirables
- An understanding of / experience in FMCG Food and/or Sports Nutrition
- Experience of working in an E-Commerce vertically integrated business/or Food Manufacturing
- Internal audit training
- Excellent Excel knowledge
