Intro to the Role
We are fuelling the future of wellness at breakneck speed, and we're looking for a sharp, hands-on Quality Assurance Technician to own raw material quality at our PW Campus in Speke, Liverpool.
This is a brand new role in our Technical team.
You'll be the first line of defence on everything that arrives on site: raw materials, packaging and bought in finished goods.
You'll sample, test and inspect it, check it against spec, and make the call on what goes into production and what doesn't.
The data you build from day one will feed directly into our journey to BRCGS certification, so your work will matter from the very first week.
If you're a Food QA or QC Technician who loves getting things right, spots problems before they become problems, and wants a role where you can shape how things are done rather than just follow a process, this one's for you.
What You'll Do
- Own goods-in quality: sample, inspect and test (including organoleptic) raw materials, packaging and bought in finished goods against spec.
- Build a rigorous, risk-based sampling routine with accurate records that support our BRCGS certification.
- Verify supplier Certificates of Analysis, run validation testing and manage non-conforming materials through to disposition.
- Partner with suppliers, procurement and production to resolve quality issues and spot trends that drive supplier improvement.
- Carry out scheduled internal audits (glass, GMP, traceability, QMS) and support non-conformance investigations.
- Support finished product testing, environmental monitoring and supplier documentation for customer compliance.
- Ideal Candidate
- You must have proven experience in a QA or QC role, ideally in food manufacturing, FMCG or sports nutrition.
- You must hold a food safety and HACCP qualification and know your way around good hygiene and sampling practice.
- You're organised, comfortable with Excel and Microsoft tools, and your records are always audit-ready.
- You're confident raising issues with suppliers and colleagues, and you explain them clearly and simply.
- You hold high standards, own the outcome, and are never satisfied with "good enough".
- While part of a team, you will work mostly independently and must be comfortable with that level of autonomy.
- Experience with organoleptic or sensory testing experience, or internal auditor training isn’t essential, but a great thing to bring to the table if you have it!
Benefits
- Exclusive staff discounts
- Private healthcare
- Birthday day off
- Pension scheme
- Unique bonus scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Access to PW product discounts
- Staff socials and events
- State of the art PW Campus
