At Protein Works, we rely on our IT systems to power the solutions across all functions at our new state of the art facility PW Campus. We’re seeking a hungry IT Support executive at the very beginning of their IT career to join us on this journey “To Create The Best Shakes On The Planet”, using their technology skills to make us even more efficient.
The selected individual will have the opportunity to report daily into our Director of Website Development & Infrastructure with mentoring and a wealth of experience and on the job development provided first hand, an incredible opportunity for first hand exposure at the very beginning of their career in IT.
In this role, the support executive will oversee IT systems and assets, assist with upgrades and fixes, and provide training and support as needed across our workforce at PW Campus. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, network maintenance, and industry trends to keep us on the cutting edge. Engaging with employees throughout the company, the IT support person will have an immediate impact on the efficiency of our operations and overall growth.
Objectives of this role:- Maintain and support essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Assist in handling business-critical IT tasks and contribute to system improvements.
- Enhance business processes and employee productivity through efficient IT solutions.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software to support business needs.
- Provide expert support for Windows operating systems and widely used software applications, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google Workspace.
- Install, configure, and provide ongoing support for workstation software, hardware, printers, and access control systems (e.g., fobs, portals).
- Assess staff IT needs, identify vulnerabilities, and improve system efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration to ensure seamless integration with business operations.
- Perform application and software updates, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure system stability.
- Train employees on software and hardware usage while offering ongoing technical support.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in IT support or a related role.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, IT infrastructure, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive company information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT project management or system implementation.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Cisco CCNA).
