Protective Care Group are looking for a Registered Manager to lead an established team, who are currently support a child in a solo placement, successfully through the Ofsted registration process and then, once registered, continue to manage and support the registered service to thrive.
The team, through a dedicated trauma-informed and child-centred approach, supported the child to make an incredible amount of progress, but we are keen to take the child’s care to the next level by registering their service. The child in our care has experienced trauma, develop complex needs, and as a result can present behaviours that can be perceived as challenging, such as extreme physical aggression.
The role of the Registered Manager will be to lead the team to support the child to navigate these challenges with compassion and resilience to ultimately set them up well for a positive future. Registered Manager responsibilities will also include:
- The Registered Manager Ensuring the service consistently meets regulatory standards set by Ofsted. Ensuring knowledge of regulations are kept up to date and changes implemented as required to ensure the service remains compliant
- Being actively involved in the continued development and delivery of care, safeguarding and support to consistently meet the child’s current and future needs
- The Registered Manager will play an active part in the recruitment process for the wider Protective Care Group team
- Ensure your team are supported, motivated, skilled, knowledgeable, and happy at work. Including carrying out supervisions, debriefs, 1-2-1s, performance reviews, absence management and coaching sessions
- Managing the service’s finances, resources, performance and day-to-day activities and ensuring that records of this are completed accurately, timely and to the highest standard
Requirements for a successful Registered Manager:
- Successful completion of NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
- Successful completion of NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a residential childcare setting
- At least 1 years’ experience in a leadership role within a residential childcare setting
- Knowledgeable and experienced in working under relevant legislation and policies, such as Children’s Homes Regulations, Children and Families Act, Social Care Common Inspection Framework, Health and Social Care, Person Centred Planning and Safeguarding
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and ability to reliably commute to the service
