To achieve this, we need to grow our team of talented and passionate people.

Our clients include some of the most well‑known global brands, national governments, and innovative growing businesses.

We operate in an exciting, fast‑growing sector that bears increasing relevance and importance to nation‑states, corporates, universities, and NGOs.

PGI’s Senior Share Point Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure.

This position combines technical expertise with hands‑on implementation, proactive system management, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You will work closely with the IT team and business stakeholders to deliver robust infrastructure solutions that align with organisational goals.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure Microsoft 365 information management solutions, using Share Point Online, Teams, One Drive, Entra ID, Purview, Power Platform/Logic Apps, and related Microsoft technologies where appropriate.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a modern Share Point information architecture, including sites, hub sites, document libraries, storage strategy, content types, managed metadata, term store structures, column design, and folder‑versus‑metadata models.
  • Plan and deliver end‑to‑end migrations from on‑premises Windows file servers to Share Point Online, including analysis, restructuring, storage model design, and reduction of uncontrolled file sprawl or ad hoc sharing.
  • Redesign and standardise permissions and access models, replacing legacy file‑share ACLs with role‑based access controls using Entra ID groups, Share Point and Teams governance, least‑privilege principles, and internal/external sharing controls.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Purview and Share Point security and compliance capabilities, including sensitivity labels, default encryption, DLP, data lifecycle and retention policies, DSPM, access governance, audit/reporting, and insider risk management.
  • Define and roll out organisation‑wide data storage standards, including when to use Share Point, Teams, and One Drive; naming conventions; taxonomy; lifecycle management; and document management governance.
  • Design and deploy Teams and Share Point templates to improve consistency across departments and projects.
  • Use Share Point Syntex, Power Platform, Logic Apps, scripting, and automation to improve document classification, extraction, process efficiency, and infrastructure management.
  • Configure and optimise search and metadata‑driven discovery, including managed properties, refiners, search schema, and metadata optimisation.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, standards, procedures, and reporting data for information management performance, risks, issues, and improvements.
  • Provide ongoing administration, optimisation, troubleshooting, escalation support, backup/disaster recovery input, and continuous improvement for Share Point, Teams file storage, and Microsoft 365 document management services.
  • Work closely with IT colleagues, business stakeholders, and external vendors to understand requirements, provide expert guidance, communicate progress, challenge decisions where needed, and deliver well‑documented solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Deliver training, adoption support, change management, and knowledge sharing so staff and IT colleagues understand how to store, secure, find, and manage information effectively.
  • Contribute expert input to security policies and ensure information management solutions support relevant requirements including Cyber Essentials+, ISO/IEC 27001, and UK GDPR.

On day one you will bring

  • At least 7 years’ experience in Microsoft Share Point Online engineering, with a strong track record of delivering large‑scale file‑server‑to‑Share Point Online migrations from initiation to completion.
  • Deep expertise in Share Point Online architecture and governance, including site design, hub architecture, document library/storage design, information architecture, taxonomy, and management of files covered by UK government security classifications.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing structured data management using managed metadata, content types, term store design, columns, search schema, managed properties, refiners, and metadata‑driven search experiences.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview capabilities, including sensitivity labels, encryption, DLP, retention/lifecycle controls, access governance, audit/reporting, and related compliance controls.
  • Strong understanding of identity, access, and sharing governance using Entra ID, group‑based access control, access packages, internal/external sharing controls, and least‑privilege access models.
  • Comprehensive Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Entra, Purview, Teams and Share Point integration, with Logic Apps/Power Automate experience expected and Defender XDR experience advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Share Point Syntex, automation, advanced document processing, and scripting/automation approaches such as Power Shell and Pn P Power Shell.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to understand business information management challenges, collaborate with diverse teams, and provide robust, sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, documentation, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to deliver high‑quality technical outcomes for complex tasks with minimal supervision.
