Are you ready to move beyond pure HR admin and become a trusted first point of contact for People and Managers? If you’re an experienced HR professional looking for that next step – where you can still use your strong administration skills, but also build relationships, support managers and really make a difference to people’s working lives – this could be the role for you.
At Protect Line, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud of a culture that balances the needs of our employees and the business with genuine care and fairness. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of HR administration but also wants to be on the frontline with employees and leaders, supporting them with real issues, real conversations and real impact.
As an HR Coordinator, you will:
- Be the face of the HR team – acting as the first point of contact for HR phone calls and emails, supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle.
- Own the HR inbox – responding to queries in the moment wherever possible, prioritising workloads and delegating more complex or escalated cases across the HR team.
- Handle sensitive HR and absence matters – including taking daily absence calls from employees and managing these in a compassionate, professional way.
- Coordinate and lead HR meetings – providing support to HR and Managers by scheduling, preparing for and confidently leading meetings with employees when required.
- Guide Managers and Employees – offering first‑line advice on HR policies, employment legislation and employee relations matters, knowing when to escalate more complex issues.
- Support employees with concerns and queries – balancing individual needs with business requirements, and helping people navigate difficult or sensitive situations.
- Liaising with our external legal team – preparing and coordinating queries, sharing case information and documentation, and securing clear employment law advice to support HR decision‑making.
- Keep our data and systems accurate – updating reports, trackers, our HR system and preparing monthly management information.
- Support and develop absence management – working closely with the wider HR team to deliver and continuously improve our absence management policy and procedures.
- Use data to drive insight – analysing HR data, producing reports and identifying trends to help the team and business make informed decisions.
- Improve how we work – designing, documenting and updating HR processes and procedures so they are clear, efficient and employee‑friendly.
- Manage offboarding – ensuring a professional and caring experience at the end of the employee lifecycle, including leaver processes and documentation.
- Get involved in HR projects – partnering with the wider HR team on initiatives that support our people strategy and the wider business.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being at the centre of things – comfortable with a busy inbox and a high volume of activity, but also confident stepping into conversations, building trust and helping people find the right way forward.
What Makes You Shine:
- Previous experience in an HR or People‑based role, ideally covering both administration and employee/manager support.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in sensitive situations.
- Proven experience handling challenging cases and conversations, remaining calm, professional and empathetic.
- Excellent organisation and multi‑tasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Confidence in coordinating and leading meetings with employees and managers.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment, handling a high workload with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Clear, confident communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to think on your feet and explain HR information in a practical, people‑friendly way.

- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, able to spot issues early and suggest improvements.
- A strong alignment with our values – Care, Collaborate, Dare, Deliver – and a genuine passion for supporting people.
