Are you naturally curious and want to truly understand how a business works - not just report on it? Do you enjoy connecting the dots across data, challenging assumptions, and influencing real decisions? If you're ready to step beyond traditional management accounting and gain meaningful exposure to the process of business leadership, this could be your next move.
The Opportunity
This isn’t your standard Management Accountant role. You’ll be joining a growing Finance team in a newly created position where your remit goes far beyond P&L reporting. Working closely with the Finance Director and Board of Directors, you’ll play a key role in shaping insight, improving processes, and helping the business make smarter decisions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to truly get to grips with how a business operates - understanding how data connects, how decisions are made, and how finance drives performance. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, think differently, embrace new technologies (including AI), and get involved in everything from financial modelling and data analysis to systems and business transformation. If you want a role where no two days look the same - and where you’ll fast-track your commercial and strategic development, this is it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support business planning
- Delivering insightful, story-led analysis to the Finance Director and Board
- Investigating variances and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting strategic decision-making with meaningful financial insight
- Working across data, systems, and reporting processes to improve efficiency
- Getting involved in business-wide projects and process improvements
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial requirements
- Supporting and mentoring others where needed
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a curious, proactive mindset.
Essential
- ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, self-starting approach with natural curiosity
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence to challenge and influence
You’ll stand out if you
- Think beyond the numbers and enjoy solving problems
- Are comfortable at times working without rigid structures or fixed routines
- Embrace change, new ideas, and emerging technologies (including AI)
- Want exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making
- Are driven to continuously improve processes and how things are done
