Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently looking for a Monitoring Surveyor to join our team for a tunnel construction project in the South of London (100% Onsite).

Project: Tunnel construction project.

Estimated Duration: 24-month contract. In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.

Summary: The Monitoring Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the monitoring team in the installation, measurement, and control of geotechnical and structural instrumentation within tunnel and underground environments. Assists with equipment setup, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and documentation of monitoring activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with installation, reading, and maintenance of monitoring instruments (e.g., extensometers, inclinometers, prisms, load cells, vibration sensors, etc.).
  • Perform routine measurements and ensure accurate data collection.
  • Set up and verify monitoring points and reference stations.
  • Record, organize, and report field data following established procedures.
  • Support safety protocols and coordinate logistical requirements for monitoring activities.
  • Assist in detecting abnormalities and reporting potential risks to the monitoring/surveying team.

Requirements:

  • Experience in leveling using digital levels LS10 / LS15 / DNA (important requirement).
  • Previous experience in underground works, monitoring, or surveying (preferably).
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical/structural monitoring instruments and measurement principles.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and rotating shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn technical monitoring systems.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday Shift. 10-hour shifts with rotations: day shifts and night shifts.
