Test Technician - Contract

Role: Test Technician

Location: Guildford

Duration: 6 Months Initially

Start Date: ASAP

Hours Per Week: 38.5

Pay Rate: £16.51ph PAYE / £22.40ph Umbrella

Purpose of the Role: To perform and oversee electronic test activities, ensuring products are delivered to specification, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires a hands-on approach, technical competence, and the ability to lead and support other test staff in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and carry out electronic testing in accordance with established processes and procedures.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and repair on electronic circuits and assemblies down to component level.
• Perform testing using standard bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant quality management standards (e.g., ISO9001) and industry best practices.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

• ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience using a variety of electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal/function generator, etc.).
• Familiarity with IPC and quality standards (e.g., ISO9001).
