Our client are at the forefront of delivering high-integrity monitoring and protection systems to a wide range of industries. We're seeking a hands-on and motivated Test Engineer to join their Service & Operations team and contribute to the installation, commissioning, and testing of their cutting-edge electromechanical systems.
As a Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for both in-house testing and on-site project support. From setting up test rigs to fault finding and customer site commissioning, you'll play a critical role in ensuring their systems meet the highest performance standards. This role will involve quite a bit of site work, so you must be willing and able to travel across the UK at short notice for 3-4 days at a time. All costs will be covered, and a sustenance payment of £60/day will also be claimable.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out in-house inspection and testing of equipment and systems
- Set up test equipment, perform inspections, and record Pass/Fail results
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic faults using circuit diagrams
- Prepare and follow procedures for customer I&C requirements
- Support installation and commissioning at customer sites
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to meet project goals
About You
- Qualified to at least HNC / ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Experienced in installing and commissioning Electro-Mechanical and instrumentation equipment
- Technically versatile with strong troubleshooting, fault finding and calibration skills
- Good Electronics Testing & Fault Finding skills to component level
- You will have used test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators & Multimeters, along with other ATE and Calibration equipment
- Willing to travel to sites across the UK - site work will make up approx 25% of the work
