Are you an experienced SMT professional looking to play a key role in a modern electronics manufacturing environment? Due to ongoing growth and investment, our client is looking to recruit a skilled SMT Engineer to support and enhance their manufacturing operations.
What You'll Be Doing as an SMT Engineer:
- Developing and refining machine programs to support efficient SMT production
- Creating and maintaining automated inspection programs to ensure product quality
- Establishing and improving soldering profiles to achieve consistent manufacturing results
- Assessing component compatibility and placement requirements for new and existing products
- Supporting production readiness activities, including tooling and process preparation
- Providing technical support during product introduction and ongoing manufacturing activities
- Identifying root causes of assembly and soldering issues and implementing corrective actions
- Collaborating with Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve process-related challenges
- Assisting with equipment troubleshooting and liaising with external service providers when required
- Driving continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and yield performance
- Contributing to inspection and verification strategies across the manufacturing process
- Supporting compliance with recognised industry and quality standards
What We're Looking For as an SMT Engineer:
- Previous experience within an SMT Engineering or Process Engineering role
- Strong understanding of automated assembly processes within electronics manufacturing
- Experience creating and modifying machine and inspection programs
- Knowledge of soldering processes and thermal profiling techniques
- Proven ability to investigate manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions
- Familiarity with SMT production equipment and associated tooling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Comfortable working within a fast-moving production environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
- Experience with leading SMT placement and inspection platforms would be beneficial
