Job Description

Location: North West London

Rate: Circa £20-25/hour (Umbrella)

Duration: 6 months + contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Goods In Inspection: Conduct inspection of work received from goods in using standard inspection tools including Micrometers, Verniers, Gauges etc
  • Regular use of a CMM Machine – Programming experience would be extremely beneficial.
  • NCR Management: Effectively manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and liaise with sub-contractors.
  • Stock and Material Management: Manage stock, material consumption, and processes on internal business systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the company's goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
  • Inspection Leadership: Lead and deliver inspection activities, ensuring parts are delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification, and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate Work: Complete own work unsupervised, facilitate the work and activities of others, and coordinate work beyond own area.
  • Stock Booking: Efficiently book stock in and prepare for sub-con shipments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong manual inspection background and strong proficiency in using a wide range of metrology bench equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier calipers, Contour trace, Bore mic & thread mic, Height gauges, Slips/pins, DTI clocks, Shadow graphs, Thread gauges.
  • Clear understanding & knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experienced in the use and operation of a CMM Machine
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, including 9001 and 14001
  • Excellent attention to detail to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
