We are looking for a CNC Turner to join an established and specialist team producing components for the automotive industry. There is also the opportunity to learn and develop with this Hampshire based company. This role will also support the engineering function and the wider business by helping to develop new programs, fixtures and developing new solutions to complex problems as well as capturing learning opportunities through non-conformance notifications and engineering change requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Haas CNC 4-axis turning centre producing automotive components.
- Set existing programs.
- Create and validate new programs using a combination of offline and online programming.
- Use current SOPs, routings and engineering drawings to achieve a quality product in the shortest time.
- Work cross-functionally with the engineering manager and other production team members to optimise the manufacture of complex parts.
- Support the inspection function of the business and carry out first off inspections on own work.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and programme issues.
- Manage material within the material stores.
- Support production cost estimates to allow make vs buy sourcing decisions.
- Suggest process, tooling, routing and drawing changes where opportunities are identified.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm. Overtime readily available.
