The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production/manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role leads production teams, manages schedules, supports new product introduction, and drives continuous improvement across the factory.
Key Responsibilities as a Production Manager:
- Plan and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Oversee manual and automated assembly, testing, and inspection activities.
- Support the introduction of new products into production.
- Maintain high quality standards and drive a zero-defect culture.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of staff, managing performance and training.
- Implement and support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs and introduce improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure machinery, equipment, and consumables are properly maintained and available.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
- Support senior leadership in achieving operational goals.
Skills & Experience as a Production Manager:
- Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment (manual and automated processes).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and production data.
- Experience with ERP systems is desirable.
- Degree, HND, or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field preferred.
