Protec Camerfield, part of the Protec Fire and Security Group and the Bosch Group of Companies, specializes in every aspect of Fire Protection including Automatic Sprinkler Installations, Deluge, Gaseous Extinguishing, Low and High-Pressure Water Mist Systems, Foam Systems, Hose Reels, Hydrants, and all associated water supplies.
We have an opportunity for a self-motivated individual who can work on all aspects of mechanical sprinkler systems. The role requires a proactive and pragmatic individual who can work independently as well as part of a team to collaborate with all relevant contributors for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the systems. Excellent communication skills and a focus on quality results are essential for leading a team of installers to deliver project objectives to our customers.
This is an opportunity to join a growing department within an expanding sector of the fire industry in the southern region of the country. Current and forthcoming projects cover public and private sectors, including custodial, healthcare, hotels, retail, and residential, with project values ranging from £100K to £3.5 million+. The projects will mainly be located in the London region, with a degree of flexibility in working location as required. Protec covers all travel and accommodation expenses. Training and further qualifications will be offered to the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Manage a sprinkler installation team, primarily consisting of subcontractors, while working alongside the project manager/engineer or site manager.
- Supervise the site independently if senior management must leave.
- Deliver works efficiently, including responsibility for raising purchase orders and organizing materials and equipment to the site.
- Effectively manage site files; attend regular daily/weekly meetings; oversee health and safety; produce progress updates and reports; and complete project quality assurance checks.
- Communicate and deliver Toolbox Talks, work programmes, check drawings, RAMS, check sheets, and all safety aspects of the project.
- Liaise with management, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and information flow.
- Possess good knowledge of computers and programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Dalux, Asite, etc.).
- Identify and resolve potential clashes without deviations or nonconformities from scope, standards, or contract.
- Ability to travel within the UK when required.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the role.
