Senior NPD Technologist

Job Title: Senior NPD Technologist Location: Central Belt of Scotland Salary: TBC – Neg The Senior NPD Technologist supports the delivery of the company’s NPD strategy, managing the on-site NPD process, documentation, specifications, QAS, and submission forms. The role involves recipe development, sample preparation, trials, and collaboration with technical teams, product developers, and internal stakeholders. Please note: Private/ Own Label Experience, manufacturing for major UK Retailers is essential for this role, and our client is unable to offer any sponsorship for this role. Key Accountabilities: * Manage NPD procedures, critical paths, and industrialisation of new products. * Develop and implement QAS, ensuring production teams are well-trained. * Present and benchmark new products against competitors. * Research raw materials, methods, and new ingredients. * Create recipes aligned with company objectives; suggest improvements. * Support production teams during launches and trials. * Maintain specifications, customer databases, and documentation. * Propose innovative ideas for product and process improvements. * Build effective relationships with teams, customers, and suppliers. Performance Measures: * Meet critical path deadlines. * Achieve KPIs. * Complete responsibilities accurately and on time. Attributes: * Manage multiple tasks under pressure. * Strong understanding of recipes, costs, and the NPD process. * Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about food development. Qualifications: * Degree in Food Science or equivalent. * 3+ years’ experience in NPD, including retailer collaboration. * Flexibility to travel; additional languages are advantageous.
