We are recruiting a National Account Manager to support sales growth across a well-established chilled food manufacturing business. This role will focus on managing and developing major grocery retail accounts, delivering annual turnover, volume, and profit targets. Working closely with internal teams across supply chain, finance, NPD, marketing, and operations, you will play a key role in delivering customer plans, managing promotions, supporting product launches, and ensuring excellent account performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and deliver customer business plans to achieve sales, volume, and margin targets.
  • Manage key grocery retail accounts, taking ownership of day-to-day and strategic activity.
  • Develop existing product listings and support new listings, range reviews, and category opportunities.
  • Lead and manage product launches, working cross-functionally to ensure successful execution.
  • Plan, execute, and review promotional activity to deliver growth and ROI.
  • Support commercial administration including:
  • Trade spend tracking and control
  • Sales forecasting and reporting
  • Promotional planning and budgeting
  • Price file maintenance
  • Customer portal management
  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and demand planning information is shared internally to support supply performance.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and take ownership of driving these opportunities through the organisation.
  • Skills & Experience Required

    • Proven experience in a National Account Manager / Junior NAM / Customer Manager role within FMCG (food preferred).
    • Strong experience managing major grocery retail customers.
    • Confident across pricing, margins, forecasting, promotions, and joint business planning.
    • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong numerical ability and confidence working with data.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
    • Strong knowledge of retailer portals, systems, and operational processes.
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven.
    • Degree-level qualification preferred (but not essential with relevant experience).
