Role Profile: Multi-Skilled Engineer * 4 on 4 off β 6:00pm-6:00am * Salary – Β£53,500.00 Location: Glasgow Department: Engineering Reports to: Engineering Shift Manager Purpose of the Role As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will deliver both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to ensure production efficiency, while also supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Ensure personal and operational compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and quality standards. * Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repair work to minimise downtime and optimise equipment reliability. * Respond to breakdowns, conduct fault finding, complete repairs, and ensure root causes are identified and resolved. * Accurately record maintenance activity, materials used, and downtime data on the CMMS. * Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation (βclean as you goβ). * Ensure engineering supplies are available as required. * Contribute to projects, continuous improvement, and productivity initiatives. * Maintain tools, workshop, and equipment in line with GMP standards. * Support the training and upskilling of production operators to build asset care capability. * Communicate effectively with Engineering and Production Management regarding downtime and corrective actions. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential * Time-served, apprentice-trained Multi-Skilled Engineer. * Strong background in FMCG manufacturing. * Broad hands-on engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing/processing. * Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. * PC literate with CMMS knowledge. Desirable * Experience of working in a lean/continuous improvement environment. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and quality systems. * Efficient and effective delivery of maintenance activity. * Accurate CMMS compliance and reporting. * Contribution to minimising downtime and maintenance spend. Additional Information This role requires flexibility, commitment, and a proactive approach. You may be required to undertake additional responsibilities in line with business needs.
