Role Profile: Multi-Skilled Engineer * 4 on 4 off – 6:00pm-6:00am * Salary – £53,500.00 Location: Glasgow Department: Engineering Reports to: Engineering Shift Manager Purpose of the Role As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will deliver both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to ensure production efficiency, while also supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Ensure personal and operational compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and quality standards. * Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repair work to minimise downtime and optimise equipment reliability. * Respond to breakdowns, conduct fault finding, complete repairs, and ensure root causes are identified and resolved. * Accurately record maintenance activity, materials used, and downtime data on the CMMS. * Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation (“clean as you go”). * Ensure engineering supplies are available as required. * Contribute to projects, continuous improvement, and productivity initiatives. * Maintain tools, workshop, and equipment in line with GMP standards. * Support the training and upskilling of production operators to build asset care capability. * Communicate effectively with Engineering and Production Management regarding downtime and corrective actions. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential * Time-served, apprentice-trained Multi-Skilled Engineer. * Strong background in FMCG manufacturing. * Broad hands-on engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing/processing. * Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. * PC literate with CMMS knowledge. Desirable * Experience of working in a lean/continuous improvement environment. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and quality systems. * Efficient and effective delivery of maintenance activity. * Accurate CMMS compliance and reporting. * Contribution to minimising downtime and maintenance spend. Additional Information This role requires flexibility, commitment, and a proactive approach. You may be required to undertake additional responsibilities in line with business needs. Please note, you do need to have full working rights and have working experience in the UK processing/manufacturing facility
