Overview

I am working with a leading food manufacturing business that is seeking to appoint a Production Shift Manager (Nightshift). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a strong heritage in producing high-quality products and a focus on operational excellence and innovation.

Location: Liverpool

The Role

As Production Shift Manager, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing people, plant, product and process performance. You will be accountable for delivering against site targets, driving efficiency, and ensuring your team performs to the highest standards.

This role operates on a 12-hour night shift rotational pattern, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate your team to achieve safety, quality, cost, and performance targets.
  • Ensure production plans are achieved and labour resources are effectively managed.
  • Monitor and drive improvements in OEE, downtime, waste, and labour utilisation.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, quality management systems, and company standards.
  • Foster strong communication across shifts, operational teams, and support functions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and enhance quality.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous development.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Experience working in a Lean/continuous improvement environment.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Hands-on, accountable approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing, bakery, or snacks production.
  • Adaptability to change with the ability to support and develop others.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching ability.
