The Role
This is a broad and hands-on HR role supporting the Managing Director and leadership team. The successful candidate will take ownership of HR policies, procedures, recruitment and employee development while helping to maintain a positive and compliant working environment. This opportunity would suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys working within a small to medium-sized business, building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation and providing practical HR support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day HR activities across the business
- Review, update and implement HR policies and procedures
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters
- Support recruitment activities including advertising, interviewing and onboarding
- Coordinate induction and training programmes for new and existing employees
- Assist with performance management and employee development initiatives
- Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation
- Support disciplinary, grievance and absence management processes
- Work closely with managers to identify training and development needs
- Contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Produce HR reports and management information as required
Ideal Candidate
- Previous HR Officer, HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor experience
- Experience working within a small to medium-sized business environment
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience managing recruitment and employee relations matters
- Comfortable developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently
- CIPD qualification desirable
