We are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys developing high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will lead production operations, ensuring targets are achieved safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards. You will play a key role in delivering operational excellence, improving performance and developing a strong culture of accountability and engagement across the manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop production teams through Team Leaders and Shift Leaders
- Drive performance against key operational KPIs including plan attainment, efficiency, productivity, yield and waste reduction
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, hygiene and health & safety standards
- Deliver daily and weekly production plans while maintaining excellent service levels
- Manage labour utilisation, staffing levels and production resources effectively
- Lead performance review meetings and ensure operational metrics are monitored and communicated
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction and operational performance
- Work closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning, NPD and Logistics teams to deliver business objectives
- Support new product launches and production trials
- Manage budgets and operational costs within your area of responsibility
- Develop employee capability through coaching, training and succession planning
- Foster a positive culture focused on engagement, accountability and continuous improvement
About You
- Proven experience in a Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager or Operations Manager role within food manufacturing
- Strong leadership experience managing large production teams through Team Leaders and Supervisors
- Experience working in a fast-paced FMCG environment
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP and health & safety requirements
- Demonstrable success delivering improvements in productivity, efficiency, waste and yield
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Commercially aware with a focus on operational performance and customer service
