ProTalent are delighted to be supporting a respected and growing accountancy firm as they seek an Accounting Technician or Qualified Accountant to join their expanding team. This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad mix of accounts and tax compliance work, along with excellent opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Working across all areas of practice work for a range of personal tax and business clients
- Assisting with the management of a client portfolio to ensure a high quality service
- Preparing and reviewing sole trader accounts, personal tax returns, company accounts and corporation tax returns
- Providing VAT advice and assisting with VAT compliance
- Maintaining strong technical standards through ongoing training and CPD
- Coaching and supporting junior staff to help develop their knowledge and confidence
- Growing your expertise in Xero and other cloud based systems
- Supporting wider practice activities when required
- Communicating clearly with colleagues and clients, ensuring a professional and proactive approach
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA qualified
- Experience in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong, methodical approach
- Ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
- Problem solving skills and an investigative mindset
- Good IT skills, including confident use of Excel and Word
