The client portfolio is broad and interesting, covering limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and some not-for-profits and charities. It’s a role for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting but also values building good client relationships and delivering a quality service.

What the role looks like:

  • Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
  • Completing corporation tax, personal tax, partnership tax and VAT returns
  • Reviewing bookkeeping and supporting clients with day-to-day queries
  • Advising clients on accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
  • Liaising with HMRC and helping ensure clients stay compliant
  • Getting involved in ad hoc projects and assisting on more complex work
  • Helping manage workflow and keeping filing deadlines on track

What we’re looking for:

  • AAT qualified or ACA or ACCA part-qualified
  • At least two years’ experience in an accountancy practice environment
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting standards and tax
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Comfortable with cloud-based bookkeeping software
  • Someone proactive, detail-focused and happy working in a team
