We’re looking for a Research and Insights Manager to join our Appeal and High Value Operations Fundraising team. With our groundbreaking TRANSFORM screening trial building momentum and our ambitious £100 million Raise the Game campaign underway, we’re looking for a Research and Insight Manager to help us unlock the high-value relationships and opportunities that can make an even greater impact for men and their families.

You’ll lead high-quality prospect research, insight and due diligence, identifying individuals, trusts and foundations, companies and influencers with the potential to support our ambitions. Using a wide range of information and data, you’ll uncover connections, interests and opportunities, build insightful prospect profiles and help develop a strong pipeline. You’ll also play a key role in assessing reputational, ethical, legal and financial risk, providing clear recommendations that help us build relationships responsibly and confidently.

Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy, Partnerships and the wider fundraising team, you’ll turn research into practical insight that shapes our approach to prospective and existing supporters. From producing impactful briefings for senior stakeholders to informing cultivation and fundraising plans, you’ll be a trusted source of expertise, helping us prioritise the right opportunities, strengthen supporter relationships and grow sustainable income to support our mission.

What we want from you:

  • You’ll bring experience in prospect research, due diligence or insight, ideally within fundraising, the charity sector or a related environment.
  • Confident researching high-net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations and companies, you know how to use a range of information to uncover connections, identify opportunities and turn complex research into clear, practical insight.
  • A good understanding of high-value fundraising and donor engagement will be important, alongside sound judgement when assessing reputational, ethical and financial risk.
  • Curious, analytical and strategic, you enjoy getting into the detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail will help you produce concise, engaging briefings that give colleagues and senior stakeholders the insight they need to make informed decisions.
  • Just as importantly, you’re collaborative and approachable, able to build strong relationships across teams while handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • As a manager, you’ll support and develop one colleague, helping them grow in their role and do their best work.
  • Your expertise will also help you coach and mentor others across the team, sharing knowledge and strengthening research and insight skills.
  • You’ll actively champion equity, diversity, inclusion and allyship, ensuring these principles are reflected in how you work, support others and build relationships.

Why work with us?

Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men – prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition – to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.

Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.

Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion:

At Prostate Cancer UK we’re committed to righting health inequalities across the UK, starting with those faced by Black men. This includes ground-breaking research into Black men's risk and working with communities directly to overcome barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. To make this happen, we’re dedicated to being an inclusive, proactive organisation, as we strive to be Allies to Black communities. We’ll achieve this by advocating and working alongside those communities to promote change. We’re also working to be Allies to each other, not only protected groups.

In 2024, we launched our New Allyship Training Programme. All colleagues at Prostate Cancer UK will be trained to act and identify as an Ally. We’ve also signed Business in the Communities Race at Work Charter, as a dedication to our Black health equity work and wider EDI priorities. As a signatory, we’re responsible and accountable for driving positive change.

How and where we work:

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

We trust colleagues to work flexibly while balancing personal commitments with the needs of the charity, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments for colleagues with a disability, neurodiversity, or a long-term physical or mental health condition.
