Alongside supporting campaigns, you'll keep project plans, trackers and information up to date, help bring together campaign results and supporter feedback, and support day‑to‑day administration such as purchase orders and invoices. Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Supporter Care, Data and Insight, you'll gain a broad understanding of how fundraising campaigns are delivered while helping projects stay organised, on schedule and compliant with data protection requirements.

If you're organised, curious and eager to learn, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your fundraising career while helping us make a lasting difference for men affected by prostate cancer.

What we want from you

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and eager to learn, with a strong eye for detail and pride in delivering high‑quality work. You'll be a great communicator, comfortable building positive relationships with a range of people, following up on actions and managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.

You might have experience supporting customers, supporters, service users or members of the public, but what matters most is your enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to learn. You'll be able to use your initiative within clear guidelines, bring information together, spot potential issues and know when to seek support.

You'll be comfortable using Microsoft Office and a range of digital tools, handle personal information with care, and share our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and allyship. Previous fundraising experience isn't required. We're looking for someone who wants to develop new skills, gain hands‑on experience and build a rewarding career in fundraising.

  • You're a clear and friendly communicator and can respond to supporters and members of the public with warmth, empathy and professionalism, whether you're speaking on the phone or writing an email or social media response.
  • Experience working with customers, supporters or members of the public would be helpful, but isn't essential.
  • You're comfortable working with different people and helping busy teams work well together.
  • You're organised and can plan your workload, manage different priorities and work towards deadlines, with support when you need it.
  • You're proactive, willing to follow things up and comfortable using your initiative within clear guidance, while knowing when to ask questions or seek support.
  • You're confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools and willing to learn new systems. Experience using databases would be helpful but isn't essential.

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men's health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition - to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.

Work with us and you'll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.

This role is in salary Band 2A and is paid at the London Living Wage, currently £14.80 per hour (£28,860 per year full time). After 12 months of successful service, there will be a small increase to the midpoint of the band.

Our salaries reflect that the London office is our contractual place of work. We also pay a working‑from‑home allowance at the HMRC tax‑free rate of £312 per year.

We are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage for all roles and apply the updated rate each April.

We are a licensed sponsor for Skilled Worker visas, but we have currently exhausted our allocation of Certificates of Sponsorship and are therefore unable to offer sponsorship for the foreseeable future.

Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

At Prostate Cancer UK we're committed to righting health inequalities across the UK, starting with those faced by Black men. This includes ground‑breaking research into Black men’s risk and working with communities directly to overcome barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. To make this happen, we’re dedicated to being an inclusive, proactive organisation, as we strive to be Allies to Black communities. We’ll achieve this by advocating and working alongside those communities to promote change. We’re also working to be Allies to each other, not only protected groups. In 2024, we launched our New Allyship Training Programme. All colleagues at Prostate Cancer UK will be trained to act and identify as an Ally.

We've also signed Business in the Community's Race at Work Charter, as a dedication to us Black health equity work and wider EDI priorities. As a signatory, we're responsible and accountable for driving positive change.

Our people networks

We're continuously learning more about the needs of our colleagues, and have three amazing People Networks, sponsored by our Leadership team:

  • Pride - A safe space where LGBTQ+ colleagues - and our allies - can share their diverse lived experiences, celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and history, and create new ideas about how our organisation can be more inclusive and representative of LGBTQ+ people
  • Mind and Body - Here to increase awareness, promote wellbeing and support colleagues affected by neurodiversity, mental health problems, disability and long‑term illness
  • Culture Club - Here to increase awareness and celebrate the different cultures and beliefs that we have in the organisation, so that we all have our cultures felt and feel welcomed

How and where we work

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part‑time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support_projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

Additional in‑person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

We trust colleagues to work flexibly while balancing personal commitments with the needs of the charity, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments for colleagues with a disability, neurodiversity, or a long‑term physical or mental health condition.
