We are looking for a Direct Marketing Executive to join the Individual Giving team at Prostate Cancer UK. We are an ambitious charity with a bold mission and a fantastic culture. This role focuses on acquiring new cash and regular givers across a range of channels including digital, telephone and direct mail, helping fund research that will save and improve lives. In this role, you will help drive forward our ambitious five-year fundraising strategy as we continue to grow income year on year to have the biggest impact for men.
You will lead on our value exchange programme, working closely with the digital team and our telephone partner to continually optimise results. This is a great opportunity to gain experience across a multi-channel campaign. You will also work on wider telephone conversion campaigns and direct mail as well as other test channels with the aim of recruiting new regular and cash supporters as well as re-engaging those who have lapsed. You will help develop and test welcome journeys to engage supporters with our work and make them feel valued. You will look for ways to test and innovate to drive the best results. You will collaborate with colleagues from across the organisation to drive the best creative, messaging, targeting and data insights.
What we want from you:
- Experience or knowledge of managing direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels, ideally digital, telephone or direct mail, and preferably gained from a fundraising environment.
- First class communication and project management skills; a strong team ethic and ease in working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- A self-starter, with a curious nature and a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of data protection and sector compliance would also be beneficial.
Key skills and experience:
- Knowledge and experience of working in a direct marketing or fundraising environment.
- Experience of proactively managing marketing campaigns.
- Prioritisation and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

This role is in salary Band 2B, with a starting salary of £28,000 to £32,900 per year. We aim to pay the median salary for the charity sector and the midpoint salary for this role is £32,900. Following 12 months of successful service, colleagues appointed below the midpoint will move to that rate. Please note we are awaiting the outcome of a pay review in April 2026. Our salaries reflect that the London office is our contractual place of work. We also pay a working-from-home allowance at the HMRC tax-free rate of £312 per year. We are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage for all roles and apply the updated rate each April.

How and where we work:
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships and support projects and decision-making. The Individual Giving team works in the office every Tuesday. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs. Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues. We trust colleagues to work flexibly while balancing personal commitments with the needs of the charity, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments for colleagues with a disability, neurodiversity, or a long-term physical or mental health condition.
