The Large Format Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the shift team to execute the Production Schedule efficiently. This role balances 'hands-on' production work with the oversight of team performance, ensuring all bespoke products meet rigorous quality standards and customer deadlines. The Supervisor acts as the first point of contact for technical issues and is the final gatekeeper for Quality Control.
The Role
- Leading and motivating the Bespoke team on shift to ensure daily targets are met.
- Monitoring the production schedule in real-time, reassigning tasks as needed to prevent bottlenecks and ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensuring quality standards are met.
- Supporting the development of operatives, ensuring they are competent in using machinery (Zund, Summa, Colorado) and following departmental SOPs.
- Communicating shift progress, output levels, and any personnel or technical issues to the Production Management team.
General Production Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting technical issues with the Zund cutting machines, Summa Plotter, and Colorado Printer to minimize downtime.
- Ensuring all team members have the correct materials for their jobs and managing stock levels within the Bespoke department.
- Ensuring routine maintenance schedules for all machinery are strictly followed by the team.
- Leading by example in the operation of Zund cutting machines, Summa Plotter, Colorado Printer, and Seal Laminator executing and overseeing complex hand-finishing tasks including plotting, weeding, and mounting.
- Serving as the safety lead for the shift, ensuring all team members use PPE and follow ISO 14001 waste disposal protocols for hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Print production, large format finishing, and sign-making.
- Advanced knowledge of flatbed cutting machinery and digital printing hardware.
- Previous experience leading a team or acting as a 'Lead Hand' in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
- Flexible attitude to working time.
