As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the KS2 curriculum. You will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, particularly in literacy and numeracy, and help pupils stay motivated and focused during this important year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support in core subjects.
  • Assist with SATs preparation and revision activities where appropriate.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and independence.
  • Support pupils\’ social and emotional development.
  • Help prepare learning resources and maintain an organised classroom.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally KS2 or Year 6.
  • A calm, patient, and encouraging approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to support pupils with increased academic expectations.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
