Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Overview

Teaching Assistant – Year 2 (Behaviour Support) | Location: Rochdale (OL11) | Pay: per day | Start: ASAP / Ongoing

This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who understands the needs of KS1 pupils, can provide clear boundaries, and supports children in developing positive behaviour and social skills within the classroom environment.

The Role

• Supporting pupils in a Year 2 classroom, both academically and behaviourally
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to help children access learning
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
• Working closely with the class teacher to maintain routines and structure
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence
• Being a calm, consistent and positive role model throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have experience working as a KS1 / Year 2 Teaching Assistant
• Be confident managing low-level and emerging behavioural needs
• Be patient, firm and nurturing with a clear understanding of boundaries
• Have a good understanding of child development in KS1
• Be able to build strong relationships with young children
