Year 1 primary school teacher

Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to work in a primary school in Newham, East London. The school is a three‑form entry primary school with a supportive leadership team and provides training for all staff.

Type of work: Class teacher – planning presentations, marking work, parents’ evening, etc.
Start date: February 2026
Duration: 1‑term contract, likely extended
Contract type: Temporary
Full time: Yes
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday (term‑time only)

Experience, Training & Qualifications

• QTS/ECT or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience teaching KS1 or KS2
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the past year
• Valid right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child‑barred DBS and enrollment or willingness to enroll on the DBS update service
• Two child‑related professional references from the past two years
