A mainstream school in Rochdale (OL11) is seeking a resilient, confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality behaviour support to pupils who require consistency, structure and strong adult guidance.

The school supports pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, and is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, both in and out of the classroom
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and leadership to implement behaviour strategies
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Acting as a calm, firm and consistent presence throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have proven experience supporting behaviour in a school or similar setting
  • Be confident, assertive and emotionally resilient
  • Have knowledge of de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques
  • Be patient, consistent and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils who need strong role models
