About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the BR2 area on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and make a meaningful difference to their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
Encourage independence and confidence in pupils.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other SEND needs is desirable.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
