Prospero Teaching are working closely with a primary school in Lytchett to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding and hands-on role, ideal for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, calm, and structured 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence and independence.

The school offers a supportive and inclusive environment, where Teaching Assistants play a key role in both academic and pastoral support. This role would particularly suit candidates with experience or backgrounds in:

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Experience, Training & Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Strong interpersonal and behaviour support skills
  • SEN experience (Autism, SEMH or additional needs preferred)
  • Care, youth work, or mentoring experience welcomed
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)

Eligibility

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Two professional, child-related references
