Prospero Teaching are working closely with a Good Ofsted rated mixed secondary school in Whitefield, M45, who are looking for a Teacher of Science to join them from September 2026. The school has a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional and inspiring Science teacher to join a well-established and high-achieving department in a school where students are well behaved and engaged in their learning.

Applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged, with a strong ECT support package available where appropriate. The school believes in developing the whole person, both socially and academically, and takes pride in celebrating individual pupil success and effort. They are therefore looking for a passionate and committed teacher who can contribute to this ethos and inspire students across the Science curriculum.

Applications are welcome from ECTs as well as teachers on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) and Upper Pay Scale (UPS).

  • Full time/part time - Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, plus parent's evenings and department meetings
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Science teaching experience in UK secondary schools (all specialisms considered)
  • Strong subject knowledge across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last 2 years
