The predicted salary is between 17 - 17 £ per hour.

Location: Weston Super Mare

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:30 (Term Time Only)

Pay: £14.96 – £16.59 per hour (dependant on experience & pay type)

Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Weston Super Mare. This is a rewarding, full-time role supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who presents challenging behaviour. We are seeking someone patient, resilient, and confident in building strong, trusting relationships with children who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

The Role

  • 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil with SEN and behavioural needs
  • Helping the pupil stay regulated, engaged, and ready to learn
  • Implementing behaviour plans and personalised strategies
  • Supporting emotional development through positive, trauma-informed approaches
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Creating a safe, supportive environment that promotes inclusion and progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs, SEN, SEMH, or similar
  • A calm, nurturing, and patient approach
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and maintain consistent boundaries
  • A genuine passion for helping children thrive
  • An enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to Work in the UK
