We are looking for an experienced, highly organised Exams Officer to join a well-run, Ofsted-rated Good school from March. This is a pivotal role requiring strong regulatory knowledge, exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to manage examination cycles independently.
The Opportunity
This role would suit an Exams Officer who is comfortable owning the full exams process end-to-end and working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external awarding bodies. The school has established systems in place and values professionalism, accuracy and calm leadership during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of all internal and external examinations
- Ensure full compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
- Manage exam entries, timetables, access arrangements and results days
- Recruit, train and schedule exam invigilators
- Act as the main point of contact for awarding bodies and moderators
- Maintain accurate exam data, records and documentation
- Support post-results services, appeals and reviews of marking
Essential
- Proven experience in an Exams Officer or closely related role
- Strong working knowledge of JCQ regulations
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and pressure during exam seasons
- Confident communicator with staff at all levels
Desirable
- Experience working in a secondary school setting
- Familiarity with school MIS systems
- Experience supporting access arrangements
