Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate with plenty of initiative to support students in a secondary school in Warrington. Although this is a mainstream secondary school, you will be working with the young people who are supported by the SEN department, and there will be elements of ADHD, ASD, emotional regulation difficulties and ACEs. This role would be ideal for graduates, and those with an interest in supporting young people who need that little bit extra! Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN. Some of these students are disengaged from mainstream education, and you will have to manage elements of challenging behaviour. There are multiple roles available, including in St Helens.

  • Minimum Rate of Pay: Β£95 P/D
  • Working Hours: 0830 – 1530

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students who have additional needs is advantageous.
  • Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide professional references covering 2 years
