Tutor with BSL Knowledge

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking experienced and compassionate SEND Tutors to support a Year 3 student in the Cheetham Hill area, while they await a new school placement. The learner has an Autism diagnosis and speaks very limited English/has limited communication. He is exposed to both Swedish sign and Arabic at home so uses some Arabic to communicate however this is minimum. He accessed education from Nursery to Year 1 in Sweden where the family was previously based. He has not been in school since moving to the UK in August 2025. He also has some knowledge of sign which he can use to communicate. As a SEND Tutor, youll work with learners who require additional educational support due to a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Position Details: * Location: Cheetham Hill * Position: Tutor with knowledge of Sign * Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible) * Start Date: September 2026 * Duration: Ongoing Experience, Training and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: * Experience supporting children and young people with SEND * QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (desirable) * Experience delivering personalised 1:1 tuition * A patient, adaptable and engaging teaching style Experience supporting learners with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD or speech and language needs is highly desirable.
