Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Tutors to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of age groups and subjects.

We have a diverse range of tuition placements available for Tutors who can support learners in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) from Primary age through to Post-16. These students are seeking alternative provision and thrive in 1:1 learning environments where they can receive tailored, individualised support.

As a Tutor you will:

  1. Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
  2. Support learners with SEN in building confidence and achieving academic goals
  3. Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs
  4. Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders

About you:

  • Experience working with young people in UK schools
  • Experience working with learners with SEN, SEMH needs, EBSA, physical/emotional dysregulation, and implementing de-escalation strategies
  • Calm, nurturing, energetic, and positive
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum

Position – SEN Tutor

Contract or position start date – ASAP

Contract or position end date (if applicable) – N/A

Full time/part-time – Opportunities for both

Hours – 15 Hours per week; for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools – ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
