About the Role
The role involves 1:1 teaching and support in the student's home (RM5 area). You'll focus on building confidence and progress in:
- English (reading, writing, communication skills)
- Maths (functional numeracy and problem-solving)
- Optional enrichment activities such as music and/or art-based therapies, depending on your skills and the student's interests
The Ideal Candidate
You will be someone who is:
- Experienced in working with young people with physical disabilities or additional learning needs (though training can be provided)
- Patient, encouraging, and adaptable in your teaching style
- Able to plan and deliver engaging, ability-appropriate lessons
- Open to incorporating creative, therapeutic, or sensory activities where suitable
- Reliable, organised, and committed to consistent weekly sessions
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Teaching/tutoring experience (formal or informal)
- Knowledge of SEN approaches and differentiated learning is an advantage
- Experience or interest in music/art therapy is desirable but not essential
