Prospero Teaching is looking for tutors with experience with SEN students or in an SEN setting in the Thornton Clevelys area to provide 1-to-1 support to students with SEN requirements. We seek an inspirational and engaging tutor to support students whose needs may not have been met within the traditional school setting. The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic, and capable of creating and delivering personalized learning plans. A therapeutic approach may also be necessary to re-engage students with their learning. The goal is to provide structure in their daily routine and support their educational development, ultimately helping them return to a formal educational setting.

The tuition replaces school for these young people and is typically part-time, scheduled during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work closely with you to monitor each pupil's progress, including submitting weekly reports.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications for the English, Maths, and Science Tutor:

  • QTS or equivalent, or tutoring experience
  • UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
  • Creative, patient, and willing to think outside the box
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Two professional child-related references
