Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for General Classroom Teaching Assistants to work within mainstream primary schools across the Walsall area.
Location: Walsall
Position: General Classroom Teaching Assistant
Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Type of Work: General classroom support within a mainstream primary school
Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long-term, Short-term, and Daily Supply

About the Role:
These roles involve working closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils across the primary age range. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, providing one-to-one or small-group support where needed, and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment. We offer flexible opportunities including long-term placements, short-term cover, and daily supply work, ideal for experienced TAs or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils learning under the guidance of the class teacher
- Deliver targeted interventions and support classroom activities
- Help prepare learning materials and maintain an organised classroom
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional support
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children in a school or educational setting
- A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to learning
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, patient, and encouraging manner
- A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable
Requirements to Work with Prospero Teaching:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
- Provide two child-related professional references covering the last two years
