About the Role
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a welcoming primary school in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within a classroom setting. The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to support pupils both academically and socially, helping to create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with their learning, both one-to-one and in small groups
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra guidance
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting social development
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
- Supporting pupils during transitions, playtimes, and school routines
- Communicating effectively with staff, pupils, and other professionals
- Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed
Requirements
- Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
- A supportive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
- Right to work in the UK
