A specialist SEND provision in Rochdale is seeking an experienced Teacher or Middle Leader to cover a class supporting learners with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a flexible, learner-led area of the school, working with young people who often present with high anxiety and require a bespoke, trusting approach to re-engage with education. The role offers the opportunity to lead a small team and make a genuine difference in a nurturing, specialist environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and teach a class supporting learners with SEMH needs
  • Deliver a flexible, learner-led curriculum tailored to individual engagement levels
  • Support learners in building trust, confidence, and readiness to progress toward more structured learning
  • Lead and support a team of Teaching Assistants within the class
  • Implement and monitor EHCP targets and person-centred plans
  • Liaise closely with families, external agencies, and the wider school leadership team

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching or leading within SEMH settings
