SEMH Nurture Group Leader

Overview

Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring teacher to run a Nurture Group within a specialist, vibrant and supportive secondary school in Swinton. The role is available immediately and may become a permanent position. The school caters for students with SEMH and complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead a small class of six Year 10 and 11 students who have social communication needs, emotional regulation difficulties and sensory processing differences, typically associated with autism.
  • You will create a safe, structured, supportive environment that helps pupils build confidence, resilience and positive learning habits.
  • Additional duties include maintaining behaviour-management strategies and supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

  • Contract Type: Long-term temporary (full time)
  • Hours: Mon, Wed, Thu: 08:30 – 15:00; Tues: 08:30 – 15:30; Fri: 08:30 – 14:30
  • Minimum rate of pay: To Scale

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year is desirable but not essential, as Prospero Teaching offers a free course

Eligibility Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
